Aren't computers fun?
Jan. 27th, 2005 08:31 amI decided to finally upgrade my computer, so I got a new processor, some more memory, and a new motherboard since my original wouldn't be able to handle the new things. So I installed it all with my brother last night, and all seemed ok. So we booted it up, and it was saying weird things like wrong memory size, and weird stuff. After going through the bios and checking things were ok, it booted up but then it couldn't seem to find the cd drives, as it was asking for it to install drivers.
Anyway after lots of rebooting and all other weird happenings that I can barely remember right now, it finally seemed ok. Now with the motherboard came a CD which I figured I should setup. So I installed it but for some reason it kept freezing and weird stuff. But finally it all installed, restarted, and then before windows opened the monitor just goes off, but the computer is still running.
So I'm pissed off with it all and I think that it has something to do with that last CD conflicting with the graphics card or monitor. So that's why I was barely on at all last night, and I don't know if I will be tonight. If I can't sort it out I'll just have to format the hard drive and start a fresh, and not put that damned CD in, since it seemed to be working fine without it. Oh and if you want to know, I'm using the university computers right now, and I'm just tired...
