I stole this from [personal profile] earthstarmoon. Any sort of meme that involves music usually steals my attention because god dammit, I love music.

1) Your very much favorite song ever:
This is kind of impossible for me. Anyone who knows me, knows that my favourite songs are ever shifting and evolving and I have so many and I listen to so much too that it's difficult to narrow down just one. I think I would have to go with 'Silent Jealousy' by X-Japan though.

2) A song that makes you incredibly happy (or at least makes you smile like an idiot):
I don't tend to listen to a lot of happy type music. I like music that brings out a lot of emotion and usually in the negative sense, which is funny because I'm not normally sad or down person. I just love the emotion that type of music creates. But if there's a go to band for me to make me happy, it's probably Less Than Jake. And the one that is guaranteed to make me smile and go nuts is 'All My Best Friends Are Metalheads' by Less Than Jake.

3) A song that makes you melancholic or sad:
As I said to the previous one, I like a lot of sad music and so this one is incredibly difficult for me to pick one specific song out. However, there is one band that's brought out that emotion in me consistently. There is also one song by that band that has brought tears to my eyes just as consistently, and it's always the first line that does it. 'Little Hell' by City and Colour.

4) A song that you listen while you're mad or enraged:
This is tough, I tend not to be thinking too clearly if I'm ever mad or angry. However something did poke out to me immediately as I scrolled through my music collection. If you look at the lyrics you could argue its sad, but when it comes to the bridge and these lyrics come out, it manages to contain all my anger annoyance and release it at once.
"Don't let the world deceive you.
Don't let their words betray you.
Don't let their lies deceive you.
Let them do their worst."
Also, screw the people who get best singer in pop culture, Howard Jones should be praised. The fact he can scream and then belt out a singing voice the way he does too. Incredible. 'This Is Absolution' by Killswitch Engage.

5) A song that reminds you of someone:
I found this quite difficult because when I associate songs with people it's usually only about one person and that's my wife. I think anyone who knows me knows how obsessed I am over there. So trying to come up with something different is near impossible for me. That comes with its own problems because I have a lot of songs like that. I think I'll go with 'To Take You Home' by Frank Turner, because I also know she likes this one. And references to death metal shows are cool!

6) The song that you want as your requiem in your funeral:
For the longest time I can remember, I know I wanted 'To Sheila' by The Smashing Pumpkins. It was just an epic song and was clearly about Billy Corgan singing about his deceased mother. However, I think I'm going to have to fall prey to City and Colour again. 'Body In A Box' by City and Colour.

7) A song that makes you laugh:
I really want to try and avoid falling for comedy songs as that might just become too easy. Stuff like Richard Cheese or Weird Al Yankovic would be really easy to put here. I was going to pick a song by Frank Turner but instead I'm probably going to have to cop out. Something a bit different than what is expected though I think. I could have picked anything by this group but this has a funny video. 'Nob'eads' by Dick Limerick Academy. Maybe it's just Scouse humour. :P

8) A song you would dedicate to someone you love:
Super easy. 'We Found Each Other In The Dark' by City and Colour makes me think of my wife. Also shows that City and Colour can do positive uplifting songs too.

9) A song you would dedicate to someone who dump you:
I don't have much to say other than this song really helped me through that tough time.

10) A song you can't help but SING YOUR LUNGS OUT to every time you listen:
If this was played in a club or a party, I would always sing my heart out, but I never hear it in those situations. Instead I just sing it to myself imagining how loudly I would be singing it. 'I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous' by Frank Turner.

I want to add one more question that wasn't in the original meme (and I like to go one step beyond?). Maybe too similar to songs that make you sad, but anyway...
11) A song that you listen to when you're looking out the window, either watching the clouds pass or the raindrops fall on the window:
For me it would be 'Time Tonight' by John Frusciante. This is just such a beautiful song.
